Monday Gap

A faith-integrated strategy for closing the monday-gap

**WHITE PAPER COMING SOON**

Nearly two decades ago, an article titled “Life Coaching Craze and the Church” (circa 2005) by The Institute for Life Enrichment laid out a compelling case for why personal development is essential for people of faith and within the church. The Institute—a provider of psychotherapy and psychiatric services—noted a growing trend of coaching, within faith communities. Their goal: to empower believers with tools to help them pursue their calling and goals with clarity and accountability. This kind of support strengthens the church by helping leaders who may be too busy to give individual attention to members who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of balance. When people of faith gain clarity about their calling and reach their work and life goals, they become beacons of hope in their families and communities.

It Started with a Question !?!

What’s After the Word?

It all started with a profound question: “What happens after the Word?” That question was posed by Bishop Keith Farmer and a panel of church leaders during a broadcast on WCEG Talk Radio. It echoed the heartfelt concern of a pastor and guest caller who shared what she often hears from members after a sermon—that they need more support to apply the message, overcome challenges, and see real results. In that moment, Bishop Farmer turned to me for insight from a coaching perspective.

I deeply related to how that pastor’s members felt. When I first received a Word from God about my own assignment, I wrestled with clarity and confidence. I was like the sower in Scripture, scattering seeds with enthusiasm. Some fell by the wayside, some landed on rocky ground, and others took root only temporarily. When the trials came for me, it was the Great Recession and I was wiped out.

Before 2008, I had been climbing the ladder of success and pushing through life’s storms, unaware that I was heading toward burnout. The financial storm of the recession became my Jonah moment, landing me in the belly of the whale—stuck in a cycle of unfulfilled dreams. And yet, even then, all things were working together for my good. I continued to grow, to heal, and to develop my business, Greater Advantage, and the G.R.E.A.T.E.R. Methodology.

Now, with the benefit of hindsight and hard-earned wisdom, I am on a mission to help others to put the Word into action, overcome burnout, renew their strength, and cross the finish line of their calling.
