Storytelling Methodology and Sustaining Strategy

Diversity Intelligence is the New Emotional Intelligence is a storytelling methodology and process for building competencies to better understand yourself and others, and increase your ability to navigate through these differences. As we continue to be bombarded with breaking news and negative newsfeeds, we can no longer keep controversial topics about politics and social issues out of the workplace. It is imperative that we are equipped to have courageous conversations between people who think differently. Exploring tough topics and agreeing to disagree without discord is the first step to a harmonious environment.

Ellen K. Pao, the co-founder and CEO of Project Include, said it best, “We need radical solutions for diversity and inclusion.” I developed Diversity Intelligence is the New Emotional Intelligence to answer the clarion call. The simple act of listening to someone's story can resonate at the cellular level, facilitating shared experience and human connection.

This customizable workshop features three modules, four competencies and five steps that can be experienced virtually or in person, as a single event or in multiple sessions. It also includes a unique combination of facilitation tools for leading courageous conversations, improving group dynamics and sustaining lasting change. This program can stand alone or compliment an organization’s diversity and inclusion training on unconscious bias, microaggressions or privilege.
